Name:
Goldfire
Rank:
Elder
Age:
65
Gender:
Tom
Clan:
BlazeClan
Clan relations:
None. His family has long since been forgotten by the rest of the clan, and he never had a mate or any siblings. The only thing that could ever be even vaguely called a relation was his former apprentice, Fireflower.
Pelt:
When he was young, Goldfire had a pelt that shone near any kind of light. As his name suggests, it is a pure gold. There are no signs of any other kinds of markings on it, not tabby stripes, not patches, just one color. However, he has spent quite a bit of time near the magma of the volcano, and the heat and light have washed out the color until it has faded to a more yellow color, though it still shines in strong light. Age has also washed it out, and gray hairs pop up once in a while along the formerly-flawless fur. One look at Goldfire, and one can tell that he is an old, aged cat.
Eyes:
While Goldfire's pelt describes his age, his eyes show his ancient wisdom. They are often unfocused, as if he is watching something that other cats cannot see, that is beyond this world. Unlike his fur, they have not changed as he has aged, and remain a dark green.
Personality:
Many cats often think of Goldfire as odd because of his way of always thinking before he speaks, which doesn't happen very often. He doesn't like other cats, and is often found staring into the lava in one of the deepest crevices of the volcano, staring into the molten rock. Some cats believe that this makes him very wise. He has even prophesied from time to time. Though he will never tell any cats this, when he stares into the magma for long enough, he can see the shapes of his ancestors taking form, hear their voices. He carries out whatever task they have for him, no matter how odd. He cares for no cat, though will speak politely yet a little coldly if you approach him. The cat he is closest to, the one who is closest to being a "friend" is Fireflower, his first and only apprentice, who finished her training shortly before he became an elder.
History:
Goldfire had always lived a lonely life. His father caught greencough right after his mate moved into the nursery, and he died. He would never know that Goldkit had been born safe and healthy, but fatherless. Shortly after he became an apprentice, his mother was chosen to be a sacrifice to the Flaming Eternal on the eclipse. He was awed by this honor she had been chosen for, and wished that he could be sacrificed next. However, many eclipses came and went, and he was never chosen. By the time he became a warrior, he was greatly frustrated by this, and one day was so upset that he wasn't chosen that he stormed out of camp in a huff. He traveled deep into the volcano and sat by a pool of magma, seething, and asked, or rather yelled, aloud, asking why he couldn't be the lucky one. To his surprise, a shape formed in the lava. As he watched it, is became more defined, and whispers started to fill his ears. He listened, and they told him to wait, he would be chosen one day. He was there to complete the Flaming Eternal's bidding, and when that was over, he would be given an honored place among their ranks. Every day after, he went to the pool of lava to listen to the whispers of his ancestors. He mentored a single apprentice, Firepaw, and when he was unable to complete the task given to him by the Flaming Eternal (or he didn't want to get in trouble), she was happy to follow his every odd and/or cryptic demand. After Firepaw was given her full warrior name of Fireflower, Goldfire moved to the elder's den. One day, the voices told him that the cats in The Prison would need to be fed, they were important to their plans. Soon, he will send for Fireflower for the first time since she became a warrior to fill out his and the Flaming Eternal's work.
Other:
Goldfire: Wise messenger or insane elder? It's up to your interpretation! If this is accepted, then move it to the BlazeClan characters board.
