Silverwind had been walking around camp, gathering cats with her brother to find out who would go on the hunting trip. It would be a short one, but lately, there had been a loss of prey in the territory for some strange reason. Silverwind and Longfang had wanted to go on a big hunting trip to grab as much prey as possible for the clan while they could. Just in case that the loss of prey was because of prey-stealers, or other animals in the area had been trying to overstay their welcome to eat.
After a while, Longfang became really impatient with the fact that only his sister and himself had volunteered to hunt for the clan. "Silverwind, this is taking far too long!" Longfang complained angrily. "Let's just go and hunt already." Silverwind sighed and shook her head. "We can't, Longfang. We have to gather more cats. There is no way that we can find enough prey to feed the clan if no other cat helps us." She began. "Besides, don't worry. It is not like the prey is going anywhere." "Yes it is!" Longfang hissed. "Have you forgotten the fact that most of the prey has gone into hiding lately?!" Silverwind narrowed her icy-blue eyes at her brother emotionlessly. She never really liked his loud, rude personality. "Brother, we don't know if they've truely gone into hiding. Most think it's because another clan has been hunting in our territory." "Well, whatever! It's not like we shouldn't hurry." Longfang mumbled. "But it's not like we should hurry, either." Silverwind replied quietly. She wanted to say more, but Silverwind knew better than to argue with her foolish, blood-thirsty, rushing litermate.

Frostpaw was only a short distance away from the two other cats. He was talking to Branchface ((dont ask)), one of his imagined charactars. He was a cloudy figure, all tan with darker stripes and a giant stripe on his face. His eyes were far apart, and very small, glowing intenesly and the color of green emeralds. "Hey Branchface!" he said, "I wonder what those two cats over there are talking about...?" Frostpaw looked towards Longfang and Silverwind. Branchface responded, "Lets find out!" Frostpaw's heart swelled with joy thinking of how adventurous and happy this imaginary cat was compared to the others. Distracting him from that thought was a short but painful headache. He had these headaches everyday, with small breaks in between.
Frostpaw and his imaginary friend trotted over to Silverwind and Longfang. They were talking about hunting. Frostpaw turned to the invisible Branchface as he began to talk. "They are talking like they are a part of TimberClan," Branchface said. Frostpaw nodded, meowing, "But I want to hunt with them. It seems fun." He walked towards Silverwind and her sibling, then said, "I would like to hunt with you. My friend would too," he turned his head to his imaginary friend and continued, "This is my friend Branchface." Too bad he was invisible. Frostpaw probably looked like a freak. In his mind he added on, answer quickly, I think my headache is coming back!

Silverwind and Longfang turned to Frostpaw, and dipped their heads to him. "Finally! Someone else who is willing to hunt and isn't a lazy peice of fox-dung!" Longfang said and let out a heavy sigh. Silverwind sighed and shook her head, annoyed with her brother's impatient behavior. Then they both looked to the side of Frostpaw to bow respectfully to him, and their respectful looks turned into confused ones when they saw no one was there. "Ummm..." Silverwind and Longfang mumbled at the same time. "Uh, he's not even ther-" Longfang began before Silverwind snapped out of her confusion and pushed her tail against his mouth. "Shhh...!" Silverwind hushed him and then smiled at Frostpaw. "Well, hello Frostpaw and... Branchface." She said, not wanting to be rude to the young apprentice. Sometimes, Longfang could be so blunt!

"BRANCHFACE!!! WHERE DID YOU GO!?" Frostpaw screeched, then turned his head to Branchface. Oh, so he was there! "You are a lier, Branchface is still here! You're crazy!" he yelled. His headache was coming back, and it hurt. Whenever he talked, it hurt more. He twisted his face muscles, expressing the pain, and he made a squealing sound. Branchface was sad. "Aww, they didn't notice me.....," he said. And the pain in Frostpaw's head didn't help, because they can feel each other's pain (considering the fact that Branchface is a fragment of Frostpaw's imagination.)
"Let's hunt, quickly!! I hurt!" Frostpaw squeaked, trying to squeeze meaning into a small sentence, because his head ached so badly he couldn't hear. He just heard a stern, female voice saying, "I got you now." Branchpaw was also suffering. He tried to ignore it and think about the hunt.... if thinking was possible. Branchface was going to be Frostpaw's mentor right now. He wasn't Frostpaw's official mentor, but hopefully the leader of the Clan forgot that. It's not likely, but its just a thought.
Frostpaw ran towards a more bushy area of land. His legs were weak, and his headache was distracting him. Branchpaw followed, then jumped on a mouse, yelling, "I COUGHT A MOUSE!" Frostpaw made a signal to not yell, but then Branchpaw was starting to fade. "No, don't leave!" Frostpaw said, then ran towards Branchpaw. His headache was so horrible, and he could imagine his branch swelling up. His eyes were forced shut, and when they opened, Branchpaw was gone. This is how most of his imaginary friends left: Not by walking away, but fading. It was annoying how they can leave at any moment.

OOC: Uh.. I thought it was Branchface.... or was that some kind of a flashback?.. Well, I'll just continue from when Frostpaw said that they should hunt quickly.
IC: Silverwind nodded. "Alright." She said calmly and began walking away. Longfang, who was being really impatient with Silverwind taking her time, hissed at her. "C'mon! Let's go! We are burning moonlight!" Longfang said blandly and began speed-walking, leaving Silverwind in the dust. 'Ugh, Longfang..' Silverwind thought. 'Sometimes.. you can just be so...', but Silverwind didn't finish her thought, and instead just sighed and continued walking quietly. "You know.. if you walk so fast, you aren't going to notice if you pass any prey..." Silverwind murmured to her brother and then continued slowly walking, which is right about when she heard chirping in a tree. She looked up and Silverwind could see a small robin hanging out on a high branch. Silverwind nodded to herself and crouched down until her belly was low to the ground, and then she used her hind legs to push off the ground, leaping into the air. Silverwind's jump had so much power that she went as high as the first branch on the tree. Silverwind thrusted herself foward, paws outstretched, and grabbed onto the branch. The rest of her body was dangling from the tree, but Silverwind pulled herself up until her chin was resting on the branch, then she heaved the rest of herself up. Silverwind shook herself off and then did the same thing over and over again until she was only a branch lower than the bird. Finally, instead of doing the same thing, Silverwind quietly crawled her way over to the trunk of the tree, where she preceeded to use her sharpened claws to climb up. When she got to the same branch the robin was on, Silverwind silently bent down with her belly on the ground and stalked the small bird. She waited until she was about a fox-length away from the robin and then, rump in the air, POUNCED! The bird tried to flutter away, but Silverwind caught it with a swipe of her claws as it was mid-air and trying to escape. Then, Silverwind picked up the robin in her mouth and dug her claws into the trunk again, but this time letting herself slowly slide down the trunk of the tree. That was why her claws were always so sharp. They became sharpened by the friction of bark against them as she slid down.
During this whole event, Longfang had been still searching for a vole or something down below, not even noticing that his sister had just caught a robin, or anything that just happend for that matter. That tends to happen with Longfang, because once he gets started on something, he never stops concentrating on that one thing until it's finished. Of course, he hadn't caught anything yet. Silverwind ended her big adventurous catch by walking out in front of her brother, robin in mouth, and sitting down in front of him. She bent down and put the bird down, then sat back up. "See?" Silverwind said simply and let her tail gently rest, curled around her paws.

(( sorry i got the last names mixed up. also, in your post, what time of day is it? Oh and I agree, that was a long post, compared to allot of other ones ^^))
Although Frostpaw thought Longfang was stupid and blind for not seeing Branchface, he kind of agreed that they should continue hunting. Very strongly agreed. His headache was getting worse and worse, and now it felt like he broke his skull. "Leave," said a voice instead of his head. Frostpaw yowled loudly and fiercely thrashed his head back and forth. That helped. Now his head was getting numb. This usually never happened... his headaches were never anywhere near this bad. And he didn't usually get numb afterwards. Now he could pay attention to his Clanmates more.
Frostpaw looked around for prey. He concentrated hard on every little spot, perking his ears and opening his eyes widely, but he couldn't notice any prey. They must be hiding, Frostpaw thought. But Silverwind cought something, so that can't be possible. He lowered himself into the ground a little more, than finally saw something move. His head turned that way, and he jumped on the little movement on the grass. He used to be a great hunter, but now his hunting skills were a little impaired, but he was still good. His paw landed on bear ground and they prey had scampered away. "Fox dung," he spat. But he wouldn't give up, he's not that kind of cat. If he were, he would've just let the spirits from those poisonous berries posses his body and kill him or however the heck that works. He would've been dead. His work defenitly paid off!
So he chased after the prey some more, silently of course, swiftly jumping over any obsticles. Then, he spotted the prey again. He was getting hungrier now. He zigzagged accross branches and roots, not wanting to make a sound. Before the mouse could crawl into his/her's den, Frostpaw pounced on it. It tried to run away, so he tired it out by batting it around like a kitty toy. Then when he got the chance, he pinned the mouse's tail to the ground with his claws, and bit onto the back of its neck, so the mouse would get a stroke and die. He licked the skin off the mouse, and ate a little bit of its meat, spitting out the fur, but then remembered that he shouldn't eat it yet, so he stopped. Then he carried it back to the other cats to brag.

OOC: Nighttime... didn't you see Longfang say that they were burning MOONLIGHT?? MOONlight?
IC: Longfang looked at his sister, a bit surprised. "When'd you catch that?" He asked with a grumpy expression. Longfang was obviously jealous of his sister's nice catch. Silverwind simply sighed in reply and turned her head to the apprentice when she noticed he had caught something. She stood up and quietly began padding her way over to him.
"Nice catch, kit." Silverwind said calmly and stretched out her paws. Longfang rolled his eyes. "It was a good catch.. for an apprentice." He grumbled jealously. 'FOX DUNG! I SPEND TWICE AS MUCH TIME, AND TRY TWICE AS HARD, AND YET I STILL ALWAYS CATCH THINGS LAST!!!!' Is what he was really screaming in his head. 'Fox-dung! FOX-DUNG! FOX DUUUUUUNNNNGG!! Even the mouse-brained apprentice caught something before me!' Longfang thought angrily and then another thought popped into his head. 'No, no.... I'm not going soft, I mustn't think that. I'm as strong as ever, and always will be strong. I can't be out-smarted by a dimwitted apprentice or my quiet younger sister...' Longfang spat out the words "Fox dung" aloud and sighed, mumbling jibberish to himself that sounded like "No. I'm not soft, I'm not". 'No.. I can't get all competitive. I must remember, my duty is to the clan and only the clan.'
Longfang finally finished his little conversation to himself in his head and noticed that Silverwind was staring at him weirdly. She had been watching him blabber on to himself for about 3 minutes now, and was thinking he was going as crazy as the apprentice. 'Am I the only sane one?' Silverwind thought. If she had eyebrows, one would be raised right now. "Uhhh..... are.. you okay?" She asked Longfang quietly. Longfang blushed a deep red in pure embarrassment and cleared his throat conspicuously. "Ahem... fine. Just dandy." He mumbled.

(( aww i feel dumb now. well birds arent awake in the night, just mice and stuff like that. ))
Frostpaw looked at Longfang. Now his opinion on him changed again. He would've attacked him, but decided not too. Wow, what a jealoos freak, Frostpaw thought, then finally said his thoughts out loud, "You're making a fool of yourself." Frostpaw said that emotionlessly. He seemed years beyond the older cat's age, so mature! Although he had a mind disorder, he was very smart, at least when he wasn't hallucinating. Many psycho creatures are smart, but its hard to notice because they are so misunderstood.
Frostpaw noticed how Longfang told his sister he was dandy... what a lame exuse. It was obvious he wasn't. "He's not the best person around is he," Frostpaw thought. Neither was his sister though. His sister acted so calm and polite, but it's probably a coverup. What if Silverwind was deadly, and liked to slowly kill people? Like the evil conflicting voices in his head? Right now, Frostpaw was glad those voices existed. They have unintentially and indirectly tought him some lessons about life. He was thankful to have a flashback that let him think clearly, but terrified for his next hallucination of those cats possesing him. A flashback was a sweet relief... more than sweet.... but there isn't a word for that. A blessing? That will do.
Frostpaw felt like waving the prey in Longfang's face just to anger him. It seemed like a good idea, so he did that. "Haha I cought prey and you didn't!" he said in a sing-songy voice, letting chuckles escape his throat. But he quickly jerked away the prey and stuffed it in his mouth, not trusting the other cat.

Longfang couldn't help but clench his claws in dirt out of jealousy. "Silverwind...." He mumbled. "Hm?" Silverwind muttered and Longfang clenched his teeth. "Can I kill him, please?.." He asked through clenched fangs. "Um.. no." Silverwind replied. "Alright then, killing him it is!" Longfang shouted and charged at Frostpaw. Luckily, Silverwind had quick reflexes and grabbed him by his tail, leaving him to helplessly squirm to get free when he was only about a foot away from the young cat. "COME ON! I'LL KILL HIM GENTLY, I PROMISE!!!" Longfang yelled and squirmed. "Nuo!" Silverwind mumbled, although she was really saying "No". "Lungfan, stuup!" Silverwind hissed, Longfang's tail still in her mouth.

(( fail ))
Retards, Frostpaw thought. He laughed. "I wanna see you try to kill me," Frostpaw meowed. These cats have issues! He had a little mindly chuckle of happiness when he saw Longfang squirm, he deserved it. He continued, "But before anything happens, I'm just going to enjoy my juicy, satisfying prey...." Frostpaw sunk his teeth into the mouse, then closed his eyes and made odd sounds of pleasure. He savored the meat and chewed slowly. Then after he swallowed, he licked his lips and said, "Mmmmm... that was a wonderful mouse! I am so glad I had the skill to catch it! I am sooo lucky to have cought this mouse, but it wasn't luck, it was SKILL." Frostpaw was trying to make him as jealous as possible because he know he wouldn't die. He could get severly injured, and break some bones, but he sopposed his health was already as bad as possible, so he wouldn't care. There is nothing to lose!

Silverwind hissed through Longfang's tail. "Fustpaww, dun't incurage him!" She mumbled and Longfang kept wiggling around in her grip.
Eventually, he began to stop squirming and calm down. "Feh, I don't have to waste my time on you, runt!" Longfang mumbled. Silverwind sighed and finally let Longfang's tail drop from her mouth. "Longfang.. you need to calm down. You can't be such a hot-head..." Silverwind said with a sigh. Longfang hissed. "You're my younger sister, Silverwind! I do not need you telling me what to do." Silverwind shook her head. "Yes, younger by only a few seconds... that makes all the difference in the world." She said sarcasticly. "Don't use a sarcastic tone with me! Since our father died along with mother and all of the other siblings, I'm therefore in charge of you." Longfang grumbled. Silverwind acted like Longfang hadn't said anything and walked over to the apprentice.
"Sorry about my brother.. but you should learn to respect your elders a bit more...." Silverwind said calmly. Her piercing blue gaze met his and she stared directly into his eyes while speaking to him. It was a bit scary at how focused she seemed.. it looked almost like she was staring into his soul or some other kind of psycho-mental blabber like that. It didn't really help with how icy-cold her eyes were. It was really shockingly beautiful, but also a bit creepy. It felt kind of like the chill you get right before a ghost comes out.

Frostpaw was not intimidated. He glared back, but his glare was more like an im-not-scared-of-you glare. His top eyelid was drooping down, covering part of his eye. The souls possessing his body came alive, and controlled his mouth, forcing him to say, "You're such a fool." Of course the other soul was talking to him, not Silverwind. Frostpaw was going to tell Silverwind she was treating me like a kit, but the souls inside him said stuff before he could.
He really didn't like these cats, but he had a vicous, deadly idea. "Well anyway, let's not fight. It's immature. Let's make up," he said, "Besides, I want to show you these cool-looking neon purple berries. I heard that they are edible." He was talking about the berries he ate that gave him hillusionations, the berries with voices telling him to eat them. His eyes had a cold, deadly glare. He forced them shut, because now he could feel a force trying to move them again. He was forced to say, "Please, please, eat them!"

Longfang and Silverwind both shook their heads. "No.. I'm not too hungry right now." Silverwind declined. "Yeah, me neither. Plus, I don't think it's too smart to eat some random purple berries." Longfang agreed. "But anyways, I think we've caught enough prey now. Let's go back to the clan." He continued. Silverwind dug up the robin that she had buried under rocky terrain. She picked it up and Longfang caught a mouse before finally finishing up his "duties to the clan", and beginning to walk back. Silverwind quietly followed him and signaled the apprentice to follow. Silverwind walked into the camp and yawned, stretching. They both put the kill where it was suppose to go and went into their dens, ready for a good night's rest.
Longfang tossed and turned in his sleep, nightmares of his past family's death haunting him. Although, Silverwind just watched her litermate sleep, unable to sleep herself. That usually happend every night. Silverwind almost never slept, and instead watched others sleep. It was weird how she never appeared tired after it, though. Not even a little. She peeked out of the den entrance and watched the moon emenating a beautiful, light glow. Her blue eyes twinkled in the moon's reflection, which would've been gorgeous. But her face was so content. Emotionless. The strange thing about Silverwind was that she hardly ever smiled unless it was over something worth smiling for. Her mysterious, emotionless personality was somewhat of a turn-on to some toms, though... depending on their taste.
-----
Longfang opened his eyes quietly and glanced around. "H.....huh?.." He mumbled, realizing he was in the middle of nowhere. And I mean nowhere. Everything around him was pure black. And he could see, or hear nothing. It was very scary. "W-where.... am I? Where is this!?" Longfang shouted, his voice echoing in the dark nothingness. He tried running straight foward, but kept ending up right back where he was before.. or did he? He couldn't really tell. There was nothing to mark one individual area from another. Everything was the same. Nothing. Just black. Just darkness. Even the scary pain and sorrow he could feel in the air was all the same. Not even a glimpse of light to be seen anywhere. "What.... is going on here!?" He shouted and heard a familier voice from behind him. A soothing one. "Longfang, it is alright..." Longfang swung himself around, claws unsheathed, ready for action. But when he turned around... "...Mom...?" Longfang mumbled, eyes wide. Then a pair of paws shot out of the darkness. Black paws that seemed to be made out of the dark nothingness. Next thing Longfang knew, he was watching his own mother scream as she was dragged down into the darkness! Longfang opened his mouth to scream, but nothing came out. He couldn't speak. He'd lost his voice! 'Forget the screaming!' Longfang thought. 'I've got to help my mom!' He tried to run towards his mother to help, but the more he ran foward, the farther away his mother seemed. Longfang tried to make another thrust towards his mother when he felt his legs lock up. He'd lost the ability to move now too. All he could do now was helplessly watch his mother get sucked into a deep, dark, depressing doom.
-----
Longfang's eyes shot open in horror as he let out a terrified scream. He gasped for air when a few grumpy cats beside him woke up, fur bristled in fear. But hey, you would be pretty freaked out too if you woke up to someone screaming in your ears. Silverwind glanced at her brother. "L-Longfang? What's wrong?" She asked worriedly. "Nothing. It was just.... a nightmare...... a nightmare of the past."

Frostpaw also watched as Longfang slept, and also as he shot up in fear. He thought Longfang was pathetic when he said, 'it's just a nightmare of the past.'.' Frostpaw's life was a nightmare of the past. He decided to just go to sleep too. He wasn't tired, but just had nothing else to do. So he walked over a nice, dark, barky bush with few branches but many leaves. He patted the ground flat, and a few birds flew away from that spot. He was probably hallucinating. He will not be fooled by his hillucinations any longer, hopefully! He layed down and curled up into a ball. He then closed his eyes and pattens of light faded into his eyes, swiftly rushing around like wind. They were in green, blue, and red, but changed colors. This went on for a long time, entertaining Frostpaw. Then he finally fell asleep. The figures of light turned into figures. He saw a kit with bright yellow fur, being beaten by her mother. The kit was protesting to her mother as that happened. The voice was very familiar. Then the kit ran away into a coyote-infested forest. Then of course, a coyote saw her. Then there was a blur of ripping flesh, blood, meat, that stuff. That was just a short summery of what he could remember in his dream. There was allot more figures than that in between, but Frostpaw couldn't remember any of that.

Silverwind sighed a bit and shook her head. "Longfang.. we discussed this already... we can't dwell." She said shamefully and Longfang frowned. "This dream was so.... detailed. So... realistic..... so.. real..." Longfang mumbled and laid down, covering his head with his paws. Silverwind looked down. "Look, like I said, we can't dwell. Just.. think about something nice about life and try to fall asleep again." She insisted and laid back down on her mossy bedding, falling asleep again. But how was Longfang suppose to think of good in life when there was nothing good in it? His whole family was dead except one of his litermates! What's the good in that? Longfang curled up in a ball and closed his eyes, his thistly fur starting to return to normal. As he drifted back off into a sweet, calming dream...
