Falconheart turned around quickly, and moved back across the cave when he heard Nightpool call his name. From prior experience, he knew that whatever she needed him for, it probably wasn’t going to be enjoyable. She rarely ever needed assistance, and when she did the task was usually difficult and/or dangerous. Falconheart hoped that Goldstar would make the kits apprentices soon- Nightpool only asked for Warriors when there were no apprentices to be found. In the meantime, he didn’t really mind that much; he loved serving his Clan. When Falconheart made it over to where Nightpool was he meowed to her, “Yes, Nightpool? You called me?”

Curiosity coursed through Shiningkit's small body as Whiteash strode off in Goldstar's direction. When WAS her ceremony? Quietly, she stood up and followed him. Goldstar leaped down from his perch on the branch. "The kits' apprenticeship ceromony..." he murmured to himself. "In all honesty, I'm not quite sure. I was supposed to be today, after sunhigh, but..." he sighed. "I've been searching for mentors that are competent enough to handle apprentices. You and Falconheart are obvious choices, but what about the other two kits? We can't just leave them mentor-less." Nightpool could see the reluctance in his eyes, she could. Obviously, he had a vague idea of what they were about to ask him. "Falconheart, we're going out to collect honey. Would you like to help us?" [/size]

Shock struck Whiteash harder than an enemy warrior with pointed claws and fur that was in desperate need of a grooming. He stammered for a moment, trying to find the best words to say, shifting back and forth, how not to sound rude, then suddenly... "Me?" It was particularly un-Whiteash-ish to just blurt out the first thing that came to mind, but that's exactly what happened. "An old cat like me? Take on an apprentice? You... can I... me?" He paused to collect his breath, which had somehow escaped him, and cleared his throat. "Yes, Goldstar. I would be honored, and I'm sure I can say the same for Falconheart." He felt like a little kit, both in the sense of his anxiety and the chance of a new apprentice. When was he last a mentor? Dear, a very long time ago. Suddenly he wanted the apprentice ceremonies today, to start working with whatever kit could be his. But who would mentor the other two? He thought that Silverstorm might do well, and there was always Dawnpelt and Silverwind... For a moment he wondered if Goldstar himself might be willing to mentor again, but the chances of that were slim... Or were they? Whiteash could have purred if he weren't still recuperating.

ooc;; Ok, people - assuming you're all waiting for me -coughcough- I can try to crank out a post if y'all really want, but seriously - what can I say? I am freakin' waiting for freakin' Nighty to freakin' sort out the stupid honey-collecting-trip and there's not all that much for me to say. Freakin' post already! ...yeah. I'm not so happy about things right now. Do y'all know how long it's been since anyone except Smokeh or me posted? With the exception of Molteh, who has obliginly attacked Sootclan because there's freakin' nothing else happening!

ooc: I'm sorry, Night, but we've all been waiting on this since November, so I'm just going to post. I'm going to try to solve all the crazy problems of Whiteash-talking-to-Goldstar and Falconheart-being-asked-to-go-honey-hunting and somebodypaw-waiting-on-Nightpool. If anybody has any problems, tell me and this whole thing can be nixed. Mkay? Mkay. bic:
"Thank you, Goldstar," Whiteash purred with the upmost respect. "Whatever happens, I'll do my best." He nodded and excused himself. Shiningpaw was behind him, and he blinked in recognition. She would make an interesting apprentice, he thought. Suddenly desperate to prove himself, he looked around for something to do. He heard Nightpool call out to Falconheart and quickly bounded over. "I'd be willing to come along," he meowed, sitting down next to the other warrior. "There's nothing else happening around this sleepy place, and I'd might as well make myself useful." Secretly, he hated bees, but if he was to have an apprentice, he had to be fearless and strong. Besides, he had a thick pelt, and maybe their little stingers would fall out before they got through the fur. Or maybe they would ignore him completely. He was, after all, a senior warrior, and even pesky insects should know well enough to respect him. It was the little apprentice of Nightpool's that had to beware; (((I totally forgot the cat's name)))paw still had to make his/her way up the ranks.
ooc: Sorry Causti!!!! I can't remember the cat's name! Was that Carkpaw? I can only remember Pepperpaw! It's been too long!
